Peoria's identity is more related to resort and leisure living than the past, as that type of lifestyle migrates from the northeast Valley to Peoria. Peoria’s economic plan focuses on establishing the new Loop 303 freeway corridor as an industrial, commercial, mixed development use and less on traditional residential development. In July 2008 Money Magazine listed Peoria in the Top 100 Places to Live. The city is famous for such places as: Fountain Hills Lake Overlook Trail, Poston Butte Golf Club, Fly High Paragliding, Granite Falls Golf Course, Apex Balloons, Mario Andretti Racing Experience, Arizona Classic Jeep Tours - Day Tours, Lone Tree Golf Club, Effus Ranch, Rolling Hills Golf Course, Focus Climbing Center, Arizona Territorial Adventures, Camelback Mountain, Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club., Desert Storm Hummer Tours, Monument Valley Hot Air Balloon Company, Phoenix Area Skydiving, Gainey Ranch Golf Club, Desert Wolf Tours, MTM Ranch, AZ Rentals and Tours, Piestewa Peak, Float Balloon Tours, Arizona Rafting by Wilderness Aware, High Desert ATV Rides LLC, Wild West Jeep Tours, SunRidge Canyon Golf Club, Riverbound Sports. Our mission is to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications. To accomplish this, JDRF has invested nearly $2 billion in research funding since our inception. We are an organization built on a grassroots model of people connecting in their local communities, collaborating regionally for efficiency and broader fundraising impact, and uniting on a national stage to pool resources, passion and energy.
alfred gerriets ii Alfred Gerriets Hope Initiative sponsor fund for the arts If you live with T1D, you spend a lot of time thinking about your blood-sugar levels now and worrying about the complications that T1D may one day bring. You don’t want anyone else you love to ever know the physical, emotional and financial toll this disease takes. You want a cure. So does JDRF. And we are committed to funding the development of new therapies and treatments to keep people with T1D healthier, longer, until that cure is found. That’s why we invest in multiple therapeutic approaches to cure, prevent and treat T1D. We identify and invest in promising therapies in their early stages, helping researchers pursue innovative ideas and approaches. JDRF has led the search for a cure for T1D since our founding in 1970. In those days, people commonly called the disease “juvenile diabetes” because it was frequently diagnosed in, and strongly associated with, young children. Our organization began as the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Later, to emphasize exactly how we planned to end the disease, we added a word and became the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.Today, we know an equal number of children and adults are diagnosed every day—approximately 110 people per day. Thanks to better therapies—which JDRF funding has been instrumental in developing and making available—people with T1D live longer and stay healthier while they await the cure. Health Care & Social Assistance sector comprises firms providing health care and social assistance for individuals. The sector includes both health care and social assistance because it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between the boundaries of these two activities. The industries in this sector are arranged on a continuum starting with providing medical care exclusively, continuing with those providing health care and social assistance and finally finishing with only social assistance. The services provided in this sector are delivered by trained health practitioners and social workers with requisite experience. JDRF walk gives people hope for future free from T1D. People walk hopeful to find the cure. Whole families and friends joined the walk and walk up the hill to fundraise and support JDRF research. People believe, that the ultimate cure can be found and their kids and future generations will be free from T1D. It’s no picnic to live with T1D 24/7 so the disease should be cured as soon as possible. More people walking with JDRF walk, more money will be fundraise and the sooner the cure will appear. Walking with JDRF is a great fun and exciting. All people around you know what it is to be a T1D person and struggle for your life every second.
